Overlay live translation on your output

WordBridge has a built-in link builder that produces a transparent, styled caption link. Paste it into a ProPresenter Web View prop or an OBS Browser Source and the translated captions float over your slides, lyrics, and video while you run the service normally.

⚠ Use the link builder — not the Display window

The Display window only works on the computer that runs WordBridge (it talks to the control tab directly inside the same browser). ProPresenter and OBS are separate apps, so they need a viewer link — the one the builder creates for you. It streams from the server and works on any device with internet.

1 · Build your caption link

In WordBridge, click the orange Build ProPresenter / OBS Link button at the top of the sidebar. A window opens with a live preview and these options:

Background — Transparent (captions float over your slides/video, no box) or Solid dark. Use Transparent for an overlay.
Text size — Small → Extra large. Bigger reads better from the back of the room.
Position — Bottom (classic lower-third), Center, or Top.
Text color — White, Yellow, or any custom color.
Text shadow — keeps captions readable over bright video.
Show only the newest line — a single lower-third line instead of the scrolling history.
Show the app bar — hidden by default for a clean overlay.
Language — pick the primary or second translation (appears when you have two languages set).

Adjust until the preview looks right, then click Copy link. The link looks like:

The key stays the same until you press ↺ New key, so you only set this up once. You can re-open the builder any time to tweak the styling.

2 · Create the Prop in ProPresenter

In ProPresenter, open the Props workspace: View → Props (or click the star-shaped Props icon in the toolbar).

Click the + button to create a new Prop and name it something like Live Translation. The Prop editor opens.

In the editor toolbar choose Insert → Web View (ProPresenter 7). A web object appears on the canvas.

With the web object selected, paste the link you copied from the builder into the URL field in the object properties panel on the right. Because the builder link is transparent, only the caption text shows — no background box over your slides.

Size and position the web view over the whole screen. The caption already sits where you chose in the builder (Bottom / Center / Top), so a full-screen web object gives you a correctly-placed overlay. Match the web object's size to your output resolution for the crispest text.

Close the editor, then click the Prop in the Props list to show it. It overlays your live output and stays visible while you advance slides. Click it again (or use Clear Props) to hide it.

Using OBS instead

If you stream or composite with OBS, add the same builder link as a Browser Source — the transparent background lets it overlay any scene:

In your scene's Sources list click + → Browser, and create a new source.

Paste the builder link into the URL field, and set Width / Height to your canvas resolution (e.g. 1920 × 1080).

Click OK. The captions appear over your scene with a transparent background — drag to position or leave full-screen. OBS keeps the source live the whole service.

Tips

Start WordBridge before the service and leave it running — the overlay stays blank until translation begins, then updates by itself.
For a transparent overlay, pick a large text size and turn on Text shadow in the builder — that keeps captions readable over bright or busy video.
Turn on Show only the newest line for a clean single-line lower third; leave it off to show a few lines of scrolling history.
The computer running ProPresenter/OBS needs internet access (captions stream from wordbridgeonline.com, not from the WordBridge laptop).
Two languages? Choose which one the overlay shows with the Language option in the builder — no tapping tabs inside the web view. Make a second link for the other language if you want both on separate outputs.

Troubleshooting

"This link is not valid"

The session key changed (someone pressed ↺ New key). Re-open the builder, copy the fresh link, and paste it into the Web View / Browser Source.

Nothing shows up

A transparent overlay stays blank until translation begins — press Start in WordBridge. If it's running, check the ProPresenter/OBS computer's internet connection.

Text is hard to read over video

Re-open the builder and turn on Text shadow, bump the text size, or switch the color to White or Yellow. Copy the new link and paste it back in.

Web View option missing

Web objects require ProPresenter 7. On older versions, use OBS with a Browser Source (above), show the viewer page in a browser on a second display, or upgrade ProPresenter.
